G-11 Markaz

Islamabad forms the picturesque and lively capital city of the country of Pakistan. Replacing Karachi as the new capital in 1963, the metropolitan city of Islamabad has grown considerably to become a major financial and business hub for the country today. Home to several Parliament and Government houses, business institutions and banks, splendid Muslim architectural sites, beautiful mosques, grand monuments and structures, museums, shopping and entertainment hubs, Islamabad makes for a booming tourism destination here amongst South Asian capitals. The capital city of Islamabad is divided into several sectors. The G sectors are numbered G-5 through G-16. Each sector comprises its own central shopping area, known as ‘Markaz’. One such hub is the G-11 Markaz which makes for fabulous shopping experience here in Islamabad.

After independence in 1947, the country has slowly emerged out of the shackles of poverty, while the recent introduction of expansive economic reforms has resulted in a stronger economic outlook. Markets in Pakistan, both domestic and international, too have witnessed a significant change, experiencing a steady rise in areas of export and import. With the rapid urbanization of the capital city in recent years, along with the several multinationals and international companies setting base here, economic growth has risen considerably since the last few decades. Islamabad’s G-11 Markaz too forms a popular shopper’s hub, offering a wide variety of products including local amenities.

The overwhelming popularity of the several shopping malls and plazas, along with the traditional bazaars of the region make up the charm of splendid shopping. While each Markaz has its own unique features and is worth visiting individually. While most items are catered for in each Markaz, the lively G-11 Markaz too offers it rare features. Mostly crowded during the evenings and during the Muslim festival of Eid, shoppers at the G-11 Markaz have a wide range of items to choose from, ranging from clothing, shoes, handicrafts, fast food etc.

Similar to popular main markets dotting the various sectors of Islamabad, like those of the F6 Markaz (Supermarket), G9 Markaz (Karachi Company), G6 Markaz (Melody market), F7 Markaz (Jinnah Super Market), or the F8 Markaz (Ayub market), the G-11 Markaz too forms an enchanting hub for shoppers and tourists, looking for a good buy here in the enchanting capital city of Islamabad.
